Exchange Service CCMBX Mailbox
The CCVAN/ CCMBX Service is part of Commerce-Connections Managed Electronic Transaction Services (METS) offering.
The CCMBX Service is an electronic data and storage service which has been designed and implemented to operate platform independent and support a range of communication protocols. It enables organisations, with internet access, to exchange any files and trading data such as invoices, orders, statements and credit notes in a electronically format on a computer-to-computer basis despite protocol incompatibility.
CC's Value proposition
The CCVAN/CCMBX service facilitates the internet as a secure global network infrastructure. Compared to traditional VAN services such as GXS, IBM or BT who have been setup using old pre internet technologies, the CCMBX service is a slim and efficient service. This allows us to offer mailbox traffic charges of 1p per 1000 characters, and because we do not need to maintain an outdated private network, our annual charges are 84% less compared to a standard Tradenet mailbox.
Service Details
The CCMBX Service is similar to an electronic postal service. Trading partners are provided with mailbox facilities. Users of the CCMBX mailbox transmit data from their own computer to the CCMBX Service. The CCMBX Service then acts as a clearing-house sorting the transmitted data and transmitting it to the trading partners mailbox specified by the sender.
The trading partner can then, via a similar computer connection to the Service, collect the transmitted data from their Mailbox(es) at their convenience.
The Service supports the EDI Standards such as TRADACOMS, EDIFACT, ODETTE and ANSI X12 data standards. The CCMBX Service also supports XML data standards and formats or flat File Formats.
The CCMBX Service incorporates a high level of security to help ensure that transmitted data is available only to authorised users. Access to the Service is via passwords, the generation and maintenance of which the CC-LTD Service Administrators control.
The CCMBX Service provides connection to other services within the CC-LTD Service Centre for translation services CCXEDI or other managed services, as well as private networks (VANS) by means of Service Connections to other Value Added Networks (VANS) to which the Service Connects. Those networks are operated by other Organisations.
The Service, with the exception of scheduled maintenance periods is normally available to users 24 hours per day, 7 days a week - inclusive of public holidays.
